PROJECT AREA: 74

STATUS: The main topic and question of the interior designer of this complex was whether the design of an element of a detail can be a solution for a major and root question of the design subject in such a way that at last it could impact the whole? The area of the unit is 75 m2, where due to its weak plan the spaces were very tiny and slight, and there was not spatial transparency. The next challenge was the number of digressive and useless spaces, where not being accounted these spaces eliminated the efficiency of the whole complex. The first decision was re-combination of plan arrangement and establishment of maximum spatial wideness. In other words, by maintaining the functions of spaces it is possible to change the wall to conceptual walls with more useful functions. The solution to this answer should have been given in the heart of the project, i.e. in the room located at the middle of the plan. In the initial plan, this room along with a solid wall resulted to a small scale general space. Furthermore, due to the smallness of the space, it was not embedded in conventional function of a room. Therefore, this space was considered as an interface space used for examination and rest, where on one side it was related to Waiting room and on the other side to Doctor’s room. The walls of this room were eliminated, and sliding doors and glass openings were used instead. The next step was adding and combining the spaces in terms of aesthetic and intuitive aspects, where to meet these demands a detailed design of the body and the ceiling was employed. High-density parallel lines were utilized to make visual and ocular connection between the interface space and Waiting room space, yet the operational functions of each of the spaces were independently maintained. Transparent material in the spaces like this, such as glass with necessary controllers intensifies transparency and confidence feelings and eliminates the fear-alike mysteriousness. White color was used in all spaces as a color that has the most transparency, simplicity, and saturation. All in all, the design of the whole details was based on this fact that the low quality of digressive spaces in the formation integrity resultant from design of the detail’s body is removed and all elements look as a unity
